Taipei, Taiwan, July 22, 2008 – D-Link,
a leading provider of networking and
communication solutions, announced that
a total of 127 of their products have
cleared the Energy Star certification.
Currently 85 D-Link products have been
listed in the official Energy Star
Website; the other 42 D-Link products
will be added by the end of July.
Wonder Wang, chief quality officer of
D-Link headquarters said, “We are very
glad that D-Link could surpass the
stringent levels set by Energy Star and
certify 127 products. We will include
the Energy Star logo on our product
packaging and on our website to make our
customers aware that they represent
energy-efficient products.”
D-Link will include the Energy Star logo
on a wide range of popular D-Link
products with external power adapters
that include IP cameras, routers,
wireless access points, switches, print
servers, media players, IP phones,
firewalls, KVM switches, video phones
and DSL modems. All the 127 products met
the criteria and performance levels to
earn the Energy Star certification. On
average, the adapters are 30% more
efficient than the comparable models on
the market. In addition they are lighter
and smaller in size, which makes it
easier to transport devices like
laptops.
As of now, D-Link products that have
earned the Energy Star are primary sold
in North America. D-Link plans to meet
Energy Star guidelines for all products
to be shipped worldwide.
About Energy Star
Energy Star was introduced by EPA
(Environmental Protection Agency) in
1992 as a voluntary, market-based
partnership to reduce greenhouse gas
emissions through energy efficiency.
Today, devices carry the Energy Star
logo, on over 50 different kinds of
products such as computer products, new
homes and commercial buildings. In 2007
alone, Americans, with the help of
Energy Star, saved more than $16 billion
on their utility bills while reducing
the greenhouse gas emissions equivalent
to those of 27 million vehicles.
